I run a small body shop in Jackson county. I had a guy write a check, I don't take checks, but the guy left it at night, while I was closed. He got into my secure, fenced area and got his truck as well. I can't call it a break in, since the lock to the gate is actually gone, the cops say I can't prove it was there....Can't call it a theft, since It was his truck, and he left a check that was valid, which was what the cops told me...So I deposited the check, which he promptly canceled... The dude changed his phone number, used a bad address on his paperwork and drivers license, but I still found him. The law won't really offer me any help on this one so I want the forms necessary to file for a lien and a repo warrant. I found some sites that will sell you the forms, but there should be some source out there for free ones. I tried getting them at the county courts magistrate, superior and clerks offices but they all act like they have never heard of such a thing, so I am trying to do it myself, without a lawyer......
