Resolved Question: What is the best way to train a Shih Tzu, and what kinds of things should I look out for?

I am adopting a 3 month old Shih Tzu female puppy today from a rescue organization, she is one of the many dogs rescued from the puppymill bust in Jackson County, Georgia where the "breeder" is facing several animal cruelty charges. I have a 9 month old male Havaton, Grady (Havanese/Coton de Tulear) who is wonderful, sleeps through the night, was potty trained in four months and is excited about getting a new sister!
